Permissions, business-account requirements, and how to fix the most common errors.
Each social platform has its own quirks. Here are the issues we see most often.
When you connect a social account, you're sent to the platform's own login + permissions screen. If you tap "Cancel" or deny a required permission, you'll be sent back without a connection.
Fix: start over from Profile → Social accounts. On the permissions screen, accept everything we ask for. We only request read access to public profile data — never write access, never private messages.
Usually a personal-account problem. Some platforms (Instagram especially) only expose follower data via their business or creator account API. Personal accounts work for sign-in but we may not be able to display your follower count.
Fix:
The follower count will show within a few hours after reconnecting.
Social platforms occasionally revoke our access — usually when you change your platform password, change your email, or revoke our app from the platform's settings.
Fix: disconnect on SponsR and reconnect from scratch.
If you have multiple accounts on the same platform, the wrong one might be logged in on your phone's web browser. The connection screen uses whichever account is logged in there.
Fix:
Contact support and tell us which platform, what you saw, and any error message. We can usually figure out which step failed.
