This Policy explains how you can delete your SponsR account, what happens after a deletion request, what data is deleted, and what data we are required to retain. It supplements the Privacy Policy (Section 10) and the Terms of Service (Terms & Conditions); terms used here without definition have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1. Who can request deletion
Any user may request the deletion of their own account at any time. A suspended or restricted account may also request deletion. Deletion is one-way: after finalization, the account cannot be restored.
2. How to request deletion
- In the app: Profile → Delete account. The app will show you what deletion entails and ask for confirmation.
- By email: if you cannot access the app, write to privacy@sponsr.ge from the email address linked to your account.
3. What happens immediately after the request
- You are signed out on all devices.
- Your request is assigned a case number (format:
DEL-YYYYMMDD-XXXXXX), which we recommend you keep. - A confirmation email is sent to your account's email address.
- A 30-day waiting period begins.
4. The 30-day waiting period and cancellation
For 30 days after the request, your data is not yet deleted. During this period you may cancel the deletion at any time — simply sign back in to your account, and the deletion request is cancelled automatically; you will receive a confirmation email. If you cannot sign in (for example, your account is suspended), you may cancel within the waiting period by writing to privacy@sponsr.ge from your account's email address, quoting your case number.
After the waiting period expires, the deletion is finalized (subject to Section 5). Signing in at any point before finalization cancels the request; from finalization onward, the deletion can no longer be cancelled or reversed.
5. Before you request deletion
- Complete or cancel ongoing orders. Deletion does not release you from obligations already undertaken under existing orders (Terms of Service §6.3, §9). The app will warn you about ongoing orders, payouts, or disputes before confirming the request.
- Withdraw your available funds (Creators). Request a payout of your available balance before deletion.
- In-flight payment operations. If, at the end of the waiting period, a payment operation related to you is still in progress (e.g., a payout or refund that has not reached a final status), finalization of the deletion is postponed until that operation completes, and is then carried out automatically.
- Remaining balance. If funds remain in your balance at finalization, you may claim them afterwards by writing to privacy@sponsr.ge with your case number.
6. What is deleted or made unidentifiable at finalization
- Your identifying data (name, email address, telephone number) is replaced with non-identifying (pseudonymous) values, and your password is removed.
- Your profile's identifying fields (username/display name, biography, photo, representative information, contact details) are scrubbed or replaced with a pseudonym.
- Connected social media accounts and their access tokens are deleted.
- Push-notification tokens are deleted.
- Your open support chats are closed.
- Your account is closed and no longer appears on the Platform.
- A final confirmation email is sent to your original email address.
7. What is retained and why
In accordance with the Privacy Policy (Sections 5 and 10) and Georgian legislation, the following are retained after deletion, without your identifying data being readable on the Platform:
- Order, payment, and accounting records — 6 years (tax legislation requirement).
- Verification and KYC/AML records, payout details — 5 years (financial legislation requirement).
- Order-related chat correspondence — remains available to the other party of the order, with your identifying data replaced by a non-identifying label, for 5 years (evidence and dispute purposes).
- Deletion and audit records (including the link between the case number and the original identifiers) — kept in a restricted-access store for 5 years, to prove that deletion was carried out and to comply with legal obligations.
- Data necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims — until the relevant period expires.
After the applicable retention periods expire, these records are deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
8. Deletion initiated by SponsR
Restriction, suspension, or cancellation of an account by SponsR is governed by the Terms of Service (§16). This Policy governs deletion requested by the user.
